England’s struggles in Ashes 2021-22

England are currently staring at 2-0 deficit at end of day 4’s play in Adelaide. If England do loose on day 5, it will be their 11th loss in their last 12 games on Australian soil. Pattern of loss for England has been similar across these matches. Australia scoring 400+ in first innings, England scoring around 250, Australia getting around 150 runs lead, then England crumbling to defeat in second innings. England’s batters are not able to post big partnerships, even if they have a 75+ partnership, a collapse seems inevitable, last 5 wickets fall in a hurry, which sadly has become too predictable. England’s bowlers like to pitch the ball up to get wickets, most times they have struggled to hit right length consistently, either too full or too short, resulting in at least 2 big partnerships for Aussies, all bowlers look too similar, right arm medium fast. One of the problem is absence of a quality spinner who can trouble opposition with drift and control, if any pressure was built by quickies, it gets released by the spinner bowling too many loose balls.
